Jos Boers: ‘The role played by science is important and is of inestimable value for our society and therefore our organisation. Science, applied science, knowledge, expertise and insight lead to enlightenment, individual freedom, equality, dignity, prosperity, responsibility, health, a longer life, growing children and peace. Our organisation needs to constantly adjust and react to the inevitably evolving technology, legislation, morality and society. We can never have a perfect world, or create one. In fact it is questionable whether we should even try to do so. However, possibilities for improvement through technology and science are endless. As an organisation, there lies our focus and attention, think for example in terms of: Artificial intelligence, Energy net, Block chain, Cyber security and Robotics, but also: Quantum computing and Bioinformatics.

A wonderful example of applied science is the innovations developed for and during space travel, as explained by André Kuipers. Such innovations have since become commonplace in our daily life. A day full of inspiration for VINCI Energies employees. Technology is our passion!’
