How can we ensure a safe and healthy workplace?
Safe and healthy working at VINCI Energies is not only extremely important but also always important. We therefore organise the annual Safety Week worldwide. During the week of 14 May, we pay special attention to ‘safe and healthy working’ at all our 60 business units in the Netherlands. We do not take it for granted after all. It is therefore given our full attention and efforts, day in day out. The Safety Week is the ideal opportunity for extra focus.
As an organisation, VINCI Energies provides many tools to facilitate and encourage safe and healthy working. Because safe and healthy working is essential. Simply providing the necessary tools is of course not enough. And especially not in a network organisation such as ours which is characterised by such diverse business. We have business units which work for companies in heavy industry, but also business units where staff conduct mainly office work in order to serve clients. Safe and healthy working is equally important for all these employees. But the practicalities can therefore vary greatly. This subject therefore requires constant attention and efforts by all our people. As always, they make the difference and have great autonomy in how they do so.
During the Safety Week, employees in the various business units discuss all kinds of aspects of safe and healthy working, or attend workshops on this subject. About safety at work, but also about travelling to and from work safely. About the many physical and non-physical aspects of safe and healthy working. This therefore also covers matters such as preventing unhealthy stress. Or for example, a good balance between work and private life. First and foremost however, the dialogue concerns employees’ own responsibility in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment. The Safety Week is a stimulating period for everyone, in order to raise extra awareness.
